Save a Life from Accidental Opioid Overdose

America and Allegan County are experiencing a drug epidemic. The Grand Rapids Red Project is offering free training and free Narcan Kits for the residents of Allegan County. Residents will learn how to recognize and respond to an opioid overdose and learn how to administer nasal naioxone (Narcan). Free event and open to the public.

8/25/2021 School mask protest at Allegan DHHS
On August 25 over 200 people attended a protest rally on the lawn at the Allegan DHHS to voice their thoughts on masks for kids in K-12. Speakers included Senator Aric Nesbitt, Rep. Steve Johnson, Chairman Mike Vandenberg, and many members of the public.

8/20/2021 Board of Commissioners meeting
On that day the Allegan County Board of Commissioners passed a resolution "urging the reconsideration of the mask mandate order" and "requests the health department to rescind the local order". The AGOP applauds them for this effort!
